Using the Countdown solver
Type the six numbers from the round and the three-digit target, then press Solve. You'll get the shortest working solution step by step. If the target can't be made, you'll see the closest possible answer instead.
Countdown numbers rules
- Use + − × ÷ only; every step must give a positive whole number.
- Each number can be used at most once. You don't need to use them all.
- Large numbers are 25, 50, 75 and 100; small numbers are 1 to 10.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Countdown numbers solver work?
It works out every value each group of your numbers can make, following the TV rules (only positive whole numbers at every step), and shows the shortest way to reach the target.
What if the target is impossible?
Some targets can't be reached exactly. The solver then shows the closest number you can make and how to get there.
Do I have to use all six numbers?
No. Like the show, you can use any of the numbers, each at most once. The solver prefers the shortest solution.
Is the Countdown solver fast?
Yes. It checks every possibility in well under a second, even with four large numbers.
