How to play the 24 Game
- You get four number cards.
- Tap a number, tap an operation (+ − × ÷), then tap another number. The two cards combine into one.
- Keep combining until one card is left. If it's 24, you win!
- Every number must be used exactly once. Made a mistake? Use Undo or Reset.
Example: with 8, 3, 2, 1, first do 2 − 1 = 1, then 8 × 3 = 24, and finally 24 × 1 = 24. In one line: 8 × 3 × (2 − 1) = 24.
24 Game rules
- Use all four numbers, each one exactly once.
- Only addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are allowed.
- Fractions in the middle of a solution are allowed (Hard puzzles often need them).
- In the classic card game, the first player to find 24 wins the card. Online, you race the clock instead.
Tips and strategies to make 24
- Look for factor pairs of 24: 3 × 8, 4 × 6, 2 × 12 and 1 × 24. Try to build one half of a pair from the other numbers.
- Make a 1 or a 0 with leftovers: two equal numbers give 1 (6 ÷ 6) or 0 (6 − 6), which lets you "use up" spare numbers.
- Think in reverse: 24 = 25 − 1, 20 + 4, 30 − 6, 48 ÷ 2.
- Stuck on a hard one? Try dividing to make a fraction. 8 ÷ (3 − 8 ÷ 3) = 24!
